Matt Thom (TSI) Interview
Recently, I got the opportunity to interview one of the co-owners of TSI aka Trick Scooters International, Matt Thom. This is OFFICIALLY the 1st interview on TSN! Enjoy!

First, i need your name and location?
My name is Matt Thom and I live in Aloha, Oregon USA.
How did TSI start?
TSI or Trick Scooters International was started by KC Corning in 2005 in Jacksonville Florida. He was working for a company called partsforscooters.com Mainly gas and electric scooters, but KC orderd some Pro modles and modifide them as his signature Razors since he was on team Razor. He stated a web page called Trick Kick Scooters. KC got home sick and moved back to Oregon in 2006. He got a spot in a bike shop (Trail Head Cycles) and tryed to get Trick scooters going again, but the bike shop closed up in 2008
what got you into the scooter sport?
I got involved in the scooter sport through my bike shop. some local riders came by my shop (Danny Felt and Alex Dorantes) and asked for a bike frame to cut up and make scooter bars. I told them they could have it. then they asked if I could cut and weld it for them. I did it for free. then they came back we cut up another frame and made another bar, and I did it for free. then they came back and I was starting to get pissed off. What the hell is up with scooters?? I mean it took a while for it to sink in. It was march 2009 they brought KC Corning to my bike shop. It was the fist time I met a famous Razor rider.

how did you get involved in TSI?
KC proposed a partnership in Trick Scooters International. and had to think about it I had already started making bars with Danny Felt Renegade Scooters. I devoloped the deck with KC and Alex, We made four decks, and had them done the day before cooter con 7. After the comp things went crazy we new we had a winner. the worlds first one piece deck. Any way I could tell right away that things would be difficult. We couldn't even agree on a name. thats when I knew it just couldn't work out as a 4 way partnership. I partnerd with KC and TSI was official
What is your best trick?
My best Trick Fakey twist to bar grind HA HA I got it on video some where, but mainly I love to flow and get high (on the vert walls) I can 180 air and one day i hope to air out. but I am 46 years old
tsi has some amazing products, is there a possible new product that we should look forward to?
Yes we have been working on a new deck the Flight Deck! all extruded it will be revolutionary we have been working on it for 7months and this design is, well I would have to say my magnum opus. my master piece
Tsi also has some amazing riders too! Are you guys looking for riders? Are you still sponsoring?
We get alot of request for sponcership. We are still a small company and I thing we have a great team KC, Hep Greg, Nick Toigo, Sean Cardwell, David Fross, OH yea and flow riders too Vaughn, Nick, Ian, Cheddie, and Im trying to get Justin Zuvich that kid shreds, I feel bad for all the times I have to say No to great Riders, but I got to keep it small. We learned our lesson quick when it comes to sponsership. its realy where your heart is.
Can you tell us your setup?
My set up Kukk Kruiser with a footfender, 125 Hep Greg wheels, Scepter bar 23 high and 22 wide Sz clamp, and of course THOM CATS

What is your all time favorite memory with TSI and can you please explain it to us?
SD4!!! Was awsome I got to meet the Austrailians Codee, Ladam, and Ryan Williams, but it was the day after the comp that was EPIC we found a house in the desert with a pool, and we got to ride with Eric Ostrom and Spicey Mchaggus. we hit up a couple of more parks and I had the time of my life. I miss thoose guys.
Thank you for letting us interview you and to get to know the great company that TSI is!
